Wolfram and metal rings tungsten carbide? Help for comparison please?

I've been shopping to buy ring around the couple for me and my boyfriend and I come across a series of rings created from tungsten carbide. The guy told me said that if it gets scratches on it, they will be a 1-for-1 exchange, so I think he is very confident of his products I have .. Read on tungsten carbide, that its measures hardness between 8-9 on the Mohs scale (about the same as that of sapphire), and it is virtually scratchproof, unless if you use a diamond. Then I came across them (much cheaper) rings in another shop, apparently it is made from a metal called wolfram. The sales assistant told me that it is scratch-resistant (but not resistant to shocks), so I asked her if as tungsten carbide. She said it's similar, and that's all she could tell me. 1.Are the same? 2.Or contains Wolfram Tungsten ONLY? 3.How will it be measured in terms of sustainability? 4.Will there are negative effects (eg leakage of color / reaction skin) Thanks for the replies!

Tungsten is a combination of tungsten carbide and carbon. It has a darker hue with a lustrous finish mirrior, the finish is very resistant to scratches and abrasions. Skin oils cause the cobalt to leach from the material. This is said to cause irritation possible the skin and permanent staining of jewelry itself. Wolfram is basically another name for Tungsten. Wolfram is a German word; D Tungsten / Wolfram is often a substitute gold in wedding rings because they have similar densities. But Tungsten / Wolfram is known for its high melting properties. So I would say that the tungsten carbide is the best choice would, unless you put your ring in an oven, Tungsten / Wolfram is not as good as Tunsten Carbide. I love you! : D
